Term 3

Again it has been a very busy term! Our Topic this term has been The Romans. We have been looking at the important factors of their lifestyle for example army life, country invasions, food and all the amazing things The Romans invented. We created our own Roman menus for a typical Roman dinner party, the children loved hearing about all the unusual foods they ate. We have written Newspaper Reports about the different battles in the Colosseum. One of our other activities was to write about life in Roman Schools, which was very different from ours today! We are looking forward to our Open Afternoon today to show all our work to our families! As part of a homework task we made 3D items, including shields, swords, helmets and Colosseums! We used different materials from cardboard, tinfoil, paint and sugar cubes!

Our class novel is Mr Stink by David Walliams we are thoroughly enjoying this! We have made a new door display which is the front cover of Mr Stink.
“I think it is fuuny!  Dylan
“ It is exciting!” Mollie
“ It is really fun to read! “ Kerry Anne
“ It is really interesting!” Anthony

Term 2

We are really enjoying our class novel “Born to Run” by Michael Morpurgo. As part of Scottish Book Week the whole school created their own door display of the book they were reading. We had green for the background and then we used old newspapers to make a collage to create the effect of our dog, this was very effective. We are all very proud of our work.
Mollie “ It is a good book because it is really exciting!”

Dylan “ Patrick was really brave saving Best Mate from the river.”

Mia “ It is interesting to read because it has got lots of detail !”

Anthony “ I like it because it tells a lot of detail and it tells us how Best Mate is feeling when he is in danger.”

China is a fun topic and we have been learning different facts about China! We have also been learning about the different wildlife living in China. We have even been counting to ten in Mandarin. We created a bar graph to display our favourite types of Chinese food.

During our P.E lessons we have been working with a partner and learning to perform different balances, this has been great fun and we have managed to get some great photographs.

Using lollipop sticks we made our Christmas craft decorations which we will be able to hang on our Christmas trees at home.

With Room 11 we have been practising our Christmas Song for our Christmas Concert.

We enjoyed our visit to Waterstones Bookshop in Braehead and enjoyed looking at the different books that were for sale.

The children in Primary 4B and Mrs Irving would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Our topic this term has been Space and we are enjoying it. Using chalk and silver glitter we created our own Constellation pictures and these look really effective displayed on our window. We have watched some great videos clips that we found fascinating. We have also learnt the order of the planets and some rhymes to help us remember them.

This term we have started doing PATHS lessons and this has been great, we have been involved in some great discussions. We particularly enjoy Pupil of the Day and creating compliments for that pupil. Our class are good at giving compliments.
